Editorial Process

The following steps describe how manuscripts are evaluated, reviewed, and processed for publication in the Journal of Research in Engineering (JRE). Our process ensures transparency, fairness, and high-quality editorial handling.

📘Step-by-Step Editorial Workflow

📩
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the online JRE submission system. All required files must be uploaded and declarations completed.
📝
2. Initial Screening
The Editorial Office checks scope, formatting, originality (plagiarism), completeness and compliance with journal policies.
👨‍🏫
3. Editor Assignment
A subject expert (Editor/Associate Editor) is assigned to oversee the review process based on the manuscript’s domain.
🔍
4. Peer Review
The editor selects 2–3 qualified reviewers. A double-blind peer review is conducted to ensure fairness and unbiased evaluation.
🖊
5. Reviewer Reports
Reviewers submit detailed comments, evaluations, and recommendations (Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject).
📤
6. Decision to Authors
The handling editor consolidates the reviews and issues a decision letter. Authors revise the manuscript if required.
🔁
7. Revision & Re-Review
Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the editor or sent again to reviewers to confirm improvements.
8. Final Acceptance
The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor grants final acceptance after meeting all quality criteria.
🖨
9. Production
Accepted papers undergo typesetting, formatting, and final proofreading for publication in the upcoming issue.
🌐
10. Online Publication
Articles are published online with DOI and included in the quarterly issue.
